    FG targets 20,000 jobs yearly, launch second section of Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme

    The Federal Authorities of Nigeria is concentrating on the creation of no less than 20,000 jobs annually via the launch of the second section of the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP)

    Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima is about to formally launch NJFP 2.0 on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Abuja.

    The occasion will even function a Excessive-Degree Coverage Dialogue on Job Creation, themed “From Expertise to Jobs and Enterprises: Driving Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship in Key Financial Sectors.” 

    Forward of the launch, the Vice President inaugurated the Mission Steering Committee on Monday, urging members to make sure the programme is inclusive and reaches each a part of the nation.

    The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) was formally launched on August 31, 2021, to deal with the prevalent subject of youth unemployment by offering latest graduates with alternatives to achieve sensible work expertise, thereby enhancing their employability within the aggressive job market.

    In February 2022, the European Union pledged €44 million to help the NJFP, enabling the location of 20,000 Nigerian youths in one-year paid internships throughout varied sectors, together with the private and non-private sectors.

    This funding was meant to facilitate the event of a talented workforce able to contributing to Nigeria’s financial progress and growth.

    Since its inception, NJFP has empowered over 14,000 younger Nigerians via 12-month paid fellowships designed to construct expertise, confidence, and long-term profession alternatives. The fellowships have been instrumental in bridging the hole between educational {qualifications} and sensible job necessities, thereby contributing to the skilled progress of contributors.

    In response to the urgent problem of youth unemployment, the Nigerian authorities has intensified efforts to create sustainable job alternatives throughout varied sectors.
