    EFCC recovered N500 billion, secured 7,000 convictions beneath my watch – Tinubu

    President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has revealed that the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) has recovered N500 billion and secured over 7,000 convictions beneath his administration, commending the management of Chairman Ola Olukoyede for the achievements.

    The commendation got here throughout Tinubu’s keynote deal with on the seventh EFCC-NJI Capability Constructing Workshop for Justices and Judges held on Monday, October 20, 2025, on the Nationwide Judicial Institute, Abuja. The workshop carried the theme: “Enhancing Justice within the Struggle towards Financial and Monetary Crimes.”

    Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President highlighted the administration’s concentrate on public accountability and institutional independence for anti-corruption companies.

     “As an administration, now we have prioritized public accountability by strengthening the anti-corruption companies and accorded them the wanted independence to execute their statutory mandates. This enabling surroundings is clear within the impression that has been made within the final two years. 

    “The EFCC, for instance, has recorded over 7,000 convictions within the first two years of the current administration and recovered belongings in extra of 5 Hundred Billion Naira.     The EFCC’s annual efficiency report exhibits that the company recovered N364.5 billion, $326.5 million, alongside different foreign currency echange and belongings, whereas securing 4,111 convictions throughout varied courts in a single yr.
