The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Fee (PCACC) has launched an investigation into the alleged diversion of over ₦4 billion belonging to the state authorities into the Dala Inland Dry Port challenge.
The probe follows claims that the state’s fairness stake within the enterprise was transferred to the household of former governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Findings revealed that the alleged diversion occurred after Kano State’s 20 per cent fairness within the multi-billion-naira challenge was reportedly transformed to personal possession in 2020, successfully eradicating the state as a co-owner of the inland port.
Sources stated the ₦4 billion was purportedly used to award a contract for the supply of infrastructure on the port, despite the fact that the state now not held any shares within the firm.
The Fee’s Chairman, Mr. Saidu Yahya, confirmed the event on Sunday, saying the investigation was triggered by petitions from involved residents over the alleged misappropriation.
