    Prof Haruna Musa Tops BUK VC Ballot with Highest Votes

    Professor Haruna Musa, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Lecturers) and a Professor of Polymer Chemistry, has emerged as probably the most supported candidate in Bayero College, Kano (BUK)’s Vice-Chancellor choice course of after the Congregation Parley held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

    Musa obtained 853 votes from 1,784 accredited voters, forward of 4 different candidates.

    The opposite contenders included Professor Mahmoud Umar Sani, former DVC (Administration Providers), who polled 367 votes; Professor Sani Muhammad Gumel, former DVC (Lecturers), who scored 364 votes; Professor Adamu Idris Tanko with 161 votes; and Professor Bashir Fagge with 18 votes.

    Seventeen votes had been declared invalid, whereas 4 had been unaccounted for.

    The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, who supervised the election, mentioned the Congregation Parley contributes 20% to the full standards utilized by the Governing Council in choosing the subsequent Vice-Chancellor.
