    Vandalisation: Court docket Grants Bail To 70-12 months-Outdated Man In Lagos

    A Justice of the Peace Court docket sitting in Bolade, Oshodi, on Monday granted bail to a 70-year-old man, Mr. Kayode Otitoju, who was arraigned for allegedly vandalising a Lagos State Authorities infrastructure mission in Lekki Part 1.

    The event was disclosed in an announcement issued Tuesday by way of the official X deal with of the Lagos State Ministry of Data and Technique.

    Otitoju was arrested on Sunday and arraigned on a two-count cost associated to the alleged destruction of an ongoing fence building alongside a canal setback—a mission being executed by the state authorities as a part of its broader city renewal and environmental safety initiative.

    In the course of the arraignment, the defendant pleaded not responsible to each expenses. His counsel, Oluwaseun Ettu, Esq., appealed for bail on essentially the most lenient phrases, citing the defendant’s superior age and well being situation.

    The presiding Justice of the Peace granted the request, setting bail at ₦200,000 with one surety. The surety is required to supply proof of a three-year tax clearance and a verifiable residential tackle.

    The matter has been adjourned to July 25, 2025, for the graduation of trial.
