    Police Arrest Infamous Cultist Linked To Rivers DPO’s Dying

    The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a suspected member of the cult group liable for the ugly homicide of Superintendent of Police (SP) Bako Angbashim, the previous Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ahoada East Native Authorities Space.

    SP Angbashim was killed in 2023 throughout an ambush by the Iceland cult group, led by the now-deceased cult chief referred to as 2Baba.

    The DPO and his workforce have been getting back from a raid on the group once they have been attacked, leading to a fierce gun battle that claimed his life.

    In keeping with an announcement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the newest arrest was made doable by means of credible intelligence, which prompted swift motion by operatives of the Command’s Octopus Tactical Unit.

    “The Police operatives stormed the suspect’s camp in Ikata neighborhood, Ahoada East LGA, and arrested one Lovegod Goodluck, a male resident of Ikata. In the course of the operation, one domestically made single-barrel gun and two stay cartridges have been recovered.”

    Iringe-Koko additional disclosed that one other male suspect, Treasured Olumini, who had beforehand escaped, was additionally arrested. “An English-made pump-action gun and a domestically made pistol have been recovered from him,” she added.

    The police spokesperson confirmed that in interrogation, the suspects confessed to being members of the Iceland cult group that has been terrorising the Ahoada East axis of the state.

    “The suspects and the recovered displays are in police custody. Investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being intensified to apprehend different fleeing members of the gang and get better their weapons,” the assertion concluded.
