    Customs generate over N15bn in 4 months in Ogun – Controller

    The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has introduced the era of over N15 billion in income between January and April 2025 in Ogun State.

    Controller of the Ogun II Space Command, Mr. Bisi Alade, disclosed this at a press convention held on Friday in Abeokuta.

    He attributed the achievement to the collective dedication and strategic efforts of the command’s officers and employees.

    In response to Alade, the income haul represents a 40 per cent improve in comparison with the N9 billion recorded throughout the identical interval in 2024.

    “This achievement is a testomony to the diligence, dedication and professionalism of our officers and males who’ve labored tirelessly to make sure we exceed our income targets,” he stated. “It is usually indicative of our unwavering dedication to the financial progress and growth of our nation.” 

    Breaking down the figures, the Space Controller revealed that over N8 billion was generated from excise duties, whereas greater than N7 billion got here from actions within the Free Commerce Zone.

    Alade additionally disclosed that the command had uncovered and introduced below management an unauthorized manufacturing facility working illegally, now positioned below excise supervision.

    He credited the success to a number of strategic initiatives applied by the command consistent with the coverage course of the Comptroller-Normal of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, whose management emphasizes consolidation, collaboration, and innovation.

    Reaffirming the command’s readiness to construct on its efficiency within the months forward, Alade emphasised the significance of continued stakeholder engagement and compliance.

    The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated N1.75 trillion in income within the first quarter of 2025, exceeding its quarterly goal of N1.645 trillion by N106.5 billion.

    In March, the service maintained the optimistic pattern with N563.52 billion, delivering 2.7 per cent above goal and 11.22 per cent enchancment over the corresponding interval of 2024.
