Two members of the Home of Representatives from Kano State have formally dumped the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum and Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo, introduced their defection on Thursday throughout a plenary session on the Nationwide Meeting in Abuja.
Their letters of resignation from the NNPP have been learn on the ground by the Speaker of the Home, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
Additionally asserting his defection was Oluwole Oke, a six-term member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in Osun State, who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC.
Oke had earlier hinted at leaving the PDP, citing large consultations along with his supporters, political allies, and relations earlier than making the choice.
The APC Nationwide Chairman and former Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, was current within the Chamber to welcome the brand new members.
He was accompanied by the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, and different high APC leaders from Kano.
