The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifon Ward 5, Ose Native Authorities Space of Ondo State, Mr. Nelson Adepoyigi, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The incident occurred on Monday night on the entrance of his farm alongside the Ifon-Owo street, an space recognized for violent crimes.
Sources within the city report that the abductors have demanded a ransom of N100 million from the sufferer’s household.
The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the kidnapping on Tuesday.
Police Public Relations Officer, Olushola Ayanlade, acknowledged that the command obtained a report of the incident and swiftly initiated a manhunt for the perpetrators.
In an announcement, Ayanlade stated, “Upon receiving the report, the DPO Ifon, in collaboration with hunters, native Vigilante Group members, and Nigeria Military personnel, has launched a manhunt for the suspects.”
The police spokesperson urged anybody with data that might help within the rescue operation to come back ahead, and reminded residents to stay vigilant, reporting any suspicious actions to the authorities.
The police are working to confirm the small print of the incident and make sure the secure launch of the APC chairman.
