The Nationwide Drug Regulation Enforcement Company (NDLEA), Kano State Command, has arrested a 75-year-old man, Nuhu Baba, for allegedly promoting illicit substances to youths within the state for over two years.
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, disclosed this in an announcement made obtainable to the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kano.
Muhammad Maigatari stated the suspect, throughout interrogation, confessed to partaking within the illicit commerce in his group, Tumbau Village, Gezawa Native Authorities Space, as a way of sustenance.
“Baba’s case underscores the alarming actuality of drug trafficking and abuse, which impacts people throughout all demographics, together with the aged.
“This incident serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive nature of substance abuse inside communities,” he added.
The PRO said that the command efficiently recovered varied illicit substances, together with Tramadol, Hashish Sativa, Diazepam, Exol-5, and Rubber Answer.
In accordance with him, the State Commander of the company, Mr. Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to combating drug abuse and trafficking within the state.
