    Two Injured As Osun Communities Renew Agelong Boundary Dispute

    At the least two individuals have been reportedly injured in a renewed conflict between Ifon and Ilobu communities in Orlu Native Authorities Space of Osun State.

    New Telegraph gathered that the 2 injured individuals have been stated to have been injured in a capturing incident within the Apiponroro space.

    Ifon and Ilobu share a historical past of communal clashes usually fueled by disputed boundaries, which have resulted in lack of lives and destruction of property over time.

    Within the renewed conflict, Ifon indigenes alleged that the assault was purportedly carried out by people from the neighbouring Ilobu group.

    He criticized the assault, describing it as a flagrant disregard for human life.

    He accused the Ilobu group of escalating the disaster regardless of ongoing authorities efforts to resolve the boundary dispute within the Opapa buffer zone.

    “This brazen disregard for human life is unacceptable. The Ilobu group has continued to have interaction in violent clashes, endangering harmless lives,” he stated.

    Akinyooye referred to as on the state authorities to take decisive motion in opposition to these accountable for the violence.

    He recommended the Olufon of Ifon-Orolu, Oba Peter Ipadeola, for restraining his topics from retaliatory measures and urged the federal government to undertake firmer methods to stop additional lack of life and property.

    Nonetheless, Ilobu leaders have countered the allegations. The Otun Jagun of Ilobu, Leke Ogunsola, accused gunmen from Ifon of attacking Ilobu residents within the early hours of Tuesday.

    “We urge the state authorities to behave decisively and shield us from these repeated assaults,” he stated.
