Members of the Oodua Folks Congress (OPC) and the motorbike riders union yesterday engaged in violent conflict over the loss of life of a motorbike ticketing officer.
The incident occurred within the early hours, at AdoEkiti, the state capital. The OPC and the motorbike riders engaged each other with harmful weapons corresponding to cutlasses, knives, amongst others.
An eyewitness defined that hassle began when the motorbike riders accused the OPC males of being chargeable for the loss of life of their ticketing officer, who usually stations by the OPC workplace close to Atikankan space of Ado Ekiti.
The variety of these wounded from each events is but to be ascertained within the violence which lasted for greater than two hours.
As on the time of submitting this report, males of the Police Speedy Response Squad has been drafted to the scene to revive legislation and order.
In the meantime, the Speedy Response Squad has arrested felony suspects numbering about six. Talking of the event, the state police spokesperson, CSP Abutu Sunday, mentioned that the Command acted on a misery name from the world.
“Immediately being 09/01/2025 at about 11:20hrs, the Command acquired a misery name that some hoodlums have been attacking and robbing harmless individuals in Atikankan Space of AdoEkiti.
“The operatives of the RRS have been deployed to the axis the place six of the suspects have been arrested. “They’re at the moment present process investigation. Effort is underway to arrest different fleeing members of the gang,” the police mentioned.
