Operatives of the Nigerian Navy (NN) have dismantled 9 inter – linked unlawful refining websites (IRS) with 5 lively reservoirs at ObeNla Riverine Group in Ilaje, Ondo.
The camps had been destroyed on January 7 by personnel connected to the Ahead Working Base Igbokoda, who recovered about 20,000 litres of crude oil, 1,400 litres of illegally refined Automotive Fuel Oil (AGO), pumping machines and regionally fabricated boats, a press release by Director, Naval Info (DINFO) Commodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu mentioned yesterday.
He mentioned naval operatives deployed for Delta Sanity II, an anti-crude oil theft operation, additionally found an unlawful refining website round Igbomotoru space of Bayelsa State with massive amount of stolen crude oil, including that operatives intercepted a big picket boat siphoning crude oil from Enang C Platform at Iko, AkwaIbom State.
He mentioned these profitable operations within the first week of the 12 months bolstered the Navy’s resolve to eradicate crude oil theft.
The Chief of the Naval Employees, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla hereby reiterates that the NN will proceed to work assiduously to eradicate maritime crimes in Nigerian waters.
