The Progressive Northwest Youth Alliance (PNYA) has commended the appointment of Yazeed Shehu Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund and the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (PAGMI) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Comrade Mukhtar Bello Abubakar, PNYA praised President Tinubu for entrusting this critical role to someone with a proven track record of fostering development and innovation.
Comrade Mukhtar highlighted Danfulani’s role in President Tinubu’s presidential campaign, where he mobilized youth support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Yazeed Danfulani’s appointment is a testament to his exceptional leadership qualities and dedication to the development of Northern Nigeria,” the statement read. “His expertise in the solid minerals sector, particularly in gold mining, will undoubtedly advance the goals of the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative.”
The initiative aims to formalize and regulate artisanal gold mining across Nigeria, creating jobs, stimulating economic growth, and reducing illegal mining activities.
PNYA emphasized the potential benefits of Danfulani’s leadership, particularly for resource-rich states like Zamfara, known for its vast gold deposits.
“PNYA believes this appointment will have a transformative impact on the solid minerals sector, bringing about sustainable development and economic opportunities, especially in Northern Nigeria,” Mukhtar added.
“We are confident that Danfulani’s leadership will not only formalize gold mining but also create avenues for empowerment and job creation in Northern Nigeria.”
The statement noted that the Solid Minerals Development Fund, under Danfulani’s guidance, is anticipated to drive forward strategic initiatives and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s economic diversification.
“With Yazeed Danfulani at the helm, the Solid Minerals Development Fund will become a transformative force for both the Northern region and Nigeria as a whole.”
