The operatives of the Nationwide Drug Regulation Enforcement Company (NDLEA) on Sunday disclosed it arrested a 59-year-old Nigerian businessman, Ezeokoli Sylva, for allegedly smuggling 700 grams of cocaine hid in his abdomen.
This was contained in a press release issued by the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi and made obtainable to newsmen in Abuja.
In response to him, the arrest came about on Friday, November 29, 2024, on the E-Arrival corridor of the Murtala Muhammed Worldwide Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State.

He added that Sylva, who had lived in Brazil for 35 years, was returning to Nigeria aboard an Ethiopian Airways flight from São Paulo, Brazil, through Addis Ababa.
Babafemi additional disclosed {that a} physique scan carried out by NDLEA officers revealed international objects in Sylva’s abdomen, which was later confirmed to be cocaine.
Moreover, Babafemi revealed that two consignments containing cocaine and pentazocine injections, en path to the UK through a courier firm in Lagos, have been intercepted on November 26.
“The cocaine, weighing 200 grams, was hid in native materials, whereas 40 ampoules of pentazocine injection, weighing 110 grams, was hidden in cartons,” he mentioned.
