    Customs, Military Synergise To Cease Proliferation Of Weapons

    The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and Nigerian Military (NA) have agreed to synergise in a big transfer to fight the proliferation of small arms and light-weight weapons.

    The partnership was struck throughout a familiarisation go to by the Commander of three Brigade, Brigadier Basic Ahmed Muhammad Tukur, to the Kano/ Jigawa Space Command’s Customs Space Controller, Comptroller Dauda Ibrahim Chana.

    The partnership is aimed toward strengthening the nation’s safety structure, by stopping illicit commerce of small arms and light-weight weapons, which has been facilitating smuggling, banditry, terrorism and common crime within the area.

    Gen. Tukur and Chana emphasised the significance of interagency cooperation in tackling the menace of smuggling and proliferation of arms, reaffirming their dedication to synergy and collaboration.

    Tukur acknowledged the important function of customs in stopping the inflow of illicit arms and ammunition and pledged the Nigerian Military’s assist in enhancing customs’ operational capability.

    He praised the Nigerian Military’s involvement in coaching and capacity-building programmes that so many customs personnel benefitted from that have been designed to reinforce their expertise and profession improvement.

    A spokesman for Kano/Jigawa Space Command, SC Saidu Nuruddeen, added: “The partnership between the NCS and the Nigerian Military demonstrates the federal government’s dedication to addressing the safety challenges posed by small arms proliferation.” “By working collectively, the 2 businesses goal to create a safer and safer setting for Nigerians.”
