    Lagos Task Force Raids Criminals’ Hideout, Arrests 53 Drug Suspects

    The Chairman of the State Environment and Special Correctional Group (Task Force), Lagos CSP Adetayo Akerele, said his operatives were arrested in Egbeda area of ​​the state.

    Akerele disclosed this in a statement signed on his behalf by the Director of Press and Public Relations of the agency, Mr. Gbadeyan Abdulraheem. Lagos He said the authority carried out the operation to improve security, protection of lives and property and environmental sustainability in the area.

    “The Authority arrested drug dealers, drug addicts, thugs and street kids. Illegal street vendors and persons engaged in shady trade.

    “We found a mixture of various illegal drugs and narcotics, presumably Indian Hash, Codeine Syrup, Colorado and several other drugs not fit or suitable for human consumption,” he said.

    According to him, the operation was a crucial step in providing relief to residents of Gowon Estate, Ipaja, Egbeda, Idimu and surrounding areas affected by the activities of the suspects. “Residents have faced traumatic experiences and security risks due to the presence of these unauthorized and willful squatters.

    “The Task Force remains fully committed to the protection of all residents and we will continue our efforts to rid the metropolis of individuals who target law-abiding citizens,” he said.

    The Chairman also reiterated the Authority’s commitment to systematically monitor other criminal dens, hotspots, abandoned buildings and unused properties.

    “The purpose of this vigilance is to deter persons with sinister motives from desisting from their acts or moving out of the state. “These arrests underscore our commitment to maintaining a safe, calm and conducive environment for all.”

    “We will not rest until all those involved in these illegal acts are held accountable,” he said. According to him, the 53 suspects arrested for illegal drug trafficking, drug use, drug trafficking, and street drug sales will be brought to justice immediately.
