It is understood that the incident took place at around 9pm on Tuesday night when the father was visiting his mother who was hospitalized with newborn twins.
The victims are aged 2, 9, 12 and 15 years old. The father, Yunusa Sarkin Samarin Keke, said that one of the children was an orphan under his care.
“I was not at home when the incident took place because I was visiting my wife who was taking care of herself at the hospital taking care of our sick newborn twins. That night, I left the children, including the 2-year-old boy, at my sister’s house and returned home to find them missing.
I suspect they were abducted by the kidnappers,” he said. He added that the children’s shoes were scattered outside his door and that he had not heard from the kidnappers. He noted that only his house was broken into that night.
Our correspondent was also informed that the kidnappers might have jumped over the fence and carried off the victims to avoid attracting attention as the residents were inside the house.
It was also noted that the Keke community in Genesis City and surrounding areas have been terrorized in recent times by suspected bandits who usually kidnap residents for ransom. Kaduna The Press Secretary of the State Police Command, ASP Mansur Hassan, could not be reached on phone as his phone went unanswered. He also did not respond to text messages sent to him.
