Ambassador Ibrahim Waiya, the Government Director of Residents for Growth and Schooling (CDE), has dismissed claims of his suspension from the Kano Civil Society Discussion board (KCSF) as baseless and unconstitutional.

In a press assertion launched via his media aide, Bahir A. Bashir, Waiya criticized the actions of the KCSF Board of Trustees (BOT), led by Professor Mohammad Tabiu, describing them as overreaching and missing authorized benefit.

The suspension, allegedly introduced by Alhaji Hamisu Isa Sherifai, who recognized himself because the BOT Secretary, was reported broadly on social media. Nonetheless, Waiya questioned the legality of the BOT’s choice, asserting that the KCSF structure doesn’t grant the BOT government powers to droop registered members. Such authority, he said, lies solely with the Government Council, contingent upon an intensive investigation and suggestion.

Waiya attributed the purported suspension to his opposition to what he termed a “kangaroo election” carried out by the BOT to pick out new KCSF management. He alleged that the election, involving fewer than 50 organizations out of over 200 registered members, lacked transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness. “The train was a complete disgrace and a dent on the civil society sector,” he remarked.

He additional accused the BOT of being blind to the group’s structure and overstepping their advisory position. “It’s unlucky that the BOT is blinded by desperation to plant a management construction, disregarding the outcry of the vast majority of members who have been disenfranchised,” Waiya mentioned. He highlighted that the legitimacy of the BOT-endorsed management is already below judicial evaluation.

Emphasizing his dedication to justice and due course of, Waiya assured his supporters that the purported suspension can be challenged in court docket. He urged patriotic members of KCSF, in addition to his associates and companions nationwide, to stay calm and disrespect the “calculated and damaging propaganda” in opposition to him.

“The event of Kano, the North, and Nigeria stays my precedence. This evilly conceived motion is not going to distract me from pursuing justice for marginalized and excluded members of KCSF,” Waiya declared.

The assertion concluded by reiterating Waiya’s dedication to regulation, equity, and the ideas of civil society advocacy, stating that the suspension letter holds no benefit and is an affront to the values of the group.
