The Kano Ministry of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation has organized a one-day stakeholders assembly to set an agenda for its five-year strategic plan.
In her tackle, the Commissioner for Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi HOD, highlighted the urgent challenges going through Kano State.
“As probably the most populous state in Nigeria, Kano is grappling with the results of local weather change, flooding, meals insecurity, youth restiveness, and their impacts on healthcare supply, environmental degradation, training, and the displacement of individuals from their properties and workplaces,” she said.
She additional famous that Kano’s geographical proximity to northwestern states affected by banditry and insecurity exacerbates humanitarian crises.
“The inflow of individuals fleeing insecurity into Kano worsens inhabitants challenges and creates additional humanitarian crises,” she defined.
To deal with these points, Hajiya Abdullahi stated the ministry is figuring out and prioritizing humanitarian response wants whereas creating a complete five-year strategic plan.
“This plan will function a framework for annual operational plans to sort out poverty and different challenges successfully,” she added.
In his remarks, the ministry’s Technical Adviser, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, emphasised the significance of collaboration for sustainable options.
“Efficient implementation of humanitarian and poverty alleviation methods requires sturdy partnerships with authorities companies, native organizations, and worldwide our bodies,” he stated.
The stakeholders assembly introduced collectively over 50 individuals from authorities, native NGOs, and worldwide companies to deliberate on the strategic course and collaborative efforts wanted to handle the state’s urgent challenges.
