The Abia State Police Command yesterday confirmed the homicide of Insp Bala Mohammed by but unknown assailants in Umuahia city. The state Police Command’s PPRO, ASP Maureen Chinaka, disclosed this in an announcement yesterday.
Chinaka stated that Insp Dunna Jatau, who was additionally within the police automobile, escaped with the driving force of the automobile throughout the assault.
She stated that the 2 cops, Mohammed and Jatau, who have been from the Particular Safety Unit (SPU) Base 4, Makurdi, Benue, have been assigned to Mr Ginger Onwusibe, a member of the Home of Representatives representing IsialaNgwa North/South constituency.

“Tragically, Insp. Bala Mohammed sustained a number of gunshot wounds and died on the scene whereas Insp Dunna Jatau and the driving force escaped the assault,” she stated.
Chinaka stated the realm was instantly combed by officers of the command who launched a complete search operation to find the attackers.
