Adamawa State Police Command on Saturday confirmed the arrest of a 19-year-old man, Aliyu Yaro, for allegedly killing his three-day-old child boy within the Mubi North Native Authorities space of the state.
Confirming the event, the command spokesperson, CSP Suleiman Nguroji, disclosed that the incident occurred on Friday and that the newborn was the kid of Yaro’s girlfriend.
Based on the assertion, His girlfriend, Safiya, accused him of murdering the newborn three days after its delivery.

Following the arrest, the suspect confessed to the crime and led the police to the burial website, the place the newborn’s stays had been exhumed.
“He narrated that he impregnated the mom of the deceased, who occurred to be his girlfriend. After the supply, she continued to name him to come back and take accountability for the newborn.”
“Aliyu stated he went to his girlfriend’s home at evening after receiving a name. He took the toddler after sending the mom to fetch water for him.”

The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, ordered that the case be transferred to the Legal Investigation Division (CID) for thorough investigation and prosecution.
