    CITAD Launches YOU-LEAD to Empower Nigerian Youth in Management

    The Centre for Data Expertise and Improvement (CITAD) has launched the Youth Management Improvement Program (YOU-LEAD) to offer younger Nigerians with management abilities, vital pondering skills, and a platform for social innovation.

    This system started with an orientation ceremony at CITAD’s Kano workplace right now, aiming to encourage youth to have interaction actively with alternatives and discover management roles.

    Chatting with attendees, Isah Garba, Senior Program Officer at CITAD and consultant of Govt Director Y.Z. Yau, highlighted the necessity for structured youth management applications.

    He famous that many youth improvement applications are short-term and donor-driven. YOU-LEAD, he stated, focuses on sustainability via mentorship and hands-on initiatives that help long-term improvement.

    The YOU-LEAD initiative seeks to handle gaps and youth exclusion in political, financial, and social spheres by constructing management abilities and providing immersive experiences.

    Garba defined that YOU-LEAD builds on CITAD’s “Inspiring Management Reflection Interactive Sequence (ILERIS),” which mentors youth via tales and insights from skilled leaders.

    “This six-month mentorship contains three months of seminars and workshops, adopted by internships throughout varied sectors,” Garba outlined.

    He added that individuals will obtain coaching in public talking, report writing, and article drafting to help self-sufficiency and put together them for profession alternatives.

    The pilot mission attracted over 250 candidates, however solely 15 had been chosen as a result of restricted sources. “We’ll present month-to-month transport help to assist them attend periods,” Garba famous, including that this system seeks to organize individuals for employment or entrepreneurship, turning them from job seekers to job creators.

    Isah Garba, emphasised that YOU-LEAD goals to develop youth as social entrepreneurs and leaders prepared to beat limitations within the management panorama.

    He defined, is a six-month dedication requiring five-day-a-week attendance. “Our purpose is to equip individuals to remodel enterprise and social enterprise concepts into viable entities,” he stated.
