    Nigeria Immigration launches 24-hour real-time border surveillance

    The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has enhanced its border safety capabilities with the inauguration of a 24-hour real-time surveillance system.

    This development was introduced by Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, in the course of the induction ceremony for 123 newly educated officers on the NIS Command and Management Centre.

    The newly established surveillance system is designed to offer steady monitoring of Nigeria’s land, maritime, and air borders. Tunji-Ojo emphasised the significance of this initiative, stating, “Our nation’s border safety, border governance, and border management capabilities have simply gotten higher.

    “We be a part of an elite record of nations whose Immigration Officers can conduct 24/7 monitoring with real-time surveillance,” he affirmed.

    Tunji-Ojo emphasised that, with the power now full and personnel absolutely educated, the induction of those officers marks a big milestone.
