The famous content creator and activist, Adebowale Debo Adadeyo aka Mr. Macaroni shared what makes him fearless.
He said his fearlessness came after his arrest in 2021.
Prior to this, the #EndSARS protest at the Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020, saw many Nigerian youths oppose the reopening of the toll gate.
In February 2021, the Nigerian Police arrested the content creator during a protest against the reopening of the toll gate for defying the orders of the Lagos state government.
Macaroni revealed in a recent interview with journalist Chude Jideonwo that while in police custody, he became more fearless and determined to fight for the oppressed.
Describing his experience, he said he was stripped and abused by police officers who seemed to take pleasure in his suffering.
“I felt that I should be involved because God has given me this platform today, not for popularity, but so that I can use it to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. How can I ask others to make a sacrifice that I am not willing to make?
After this experience, all my fears disappeared. This was the highlight. This was after these guys tortured me, I saw the hatred in their eyes and their anger.
“The skit I did did not do justice to what I went through. I had to do it so that people would watch it. I was completely naked. They stripped us and I was abused. They were happy and called each other names. They said I was disturbing some people. “
