A group of separatist militants loyal to the Biafra Nations League (BnL) has successfully repelled an alleged invasion attempt by the Rapid d’Intervention Battalions (BIR), a unit of the Cameroonian armed forces.
New Telegraph reports that the incident occurred in the Atabong East communities of the Idabato subdivision in the Bakassi Peninsula around 4 p.m. on October 31.
The BIR had allegedly attempted to invade the Atabong East communities within the Idabato subdivision of the Bakassi Peninsula, leading to a gun battle with the Biafra militants.
The defensive assault on the BIR, purportedly an elite unit of the Cameroonian President, was reportedly executed by the Dragon Fighter Marine, a faction affiliated with the Biafra Nations League (BNL).

Sources indicated that the conflict for control over Idabato reportedly endured for less than 30 minutes, with the BIR purportedly compelled to withdraw from the region.
The Cameroonian forces sustained casualties as they seemingly fell into an ambush, with the militant group purportedly launching an attack from the rear.
However, up until the time of compiling this report, the Nigerian authorities have not released any official statement either confirming or refuting the incident.
